Practitioners, Portaging, & Parenting with Heather

Today with us on the Incite Change Podcast, Coach Mauro sits down with Heather Harrison.

Heather is a certified coach, head coach and owner of Shift One, an exercise physiologist, and a professor within the Fitness and Health Promotion & Massage Therapy at Durham College with over 12 years of experience in the fitness industry.

She has a passion for and includes Internal Control Psychology in her coaching. She helps her clients and students reach different levels of self-evaluation and understand how it impacts their weight loss journey.

Heather discusses in detail how we incorporate Choice Theory in our everyday lives and how we see this greatly as our routines were interrupted by the pandemic and even now getting back into a routine.

In closing, she answers the question of how to help your children to have a healthy relationship with food, which she advises begins with your beliefs. Understanding your beliefs about food and weight will determine how you teach others and understand that weight bias does exist.
